Houses: From Grade to Gable

This course, Houses, From Grade to Gable: The Structure, or commonly called “The Structure” deals with the development of the modern house and its structure, starting with a quick history of the origins of shelter, then looking at the ground it is built upon and finishing with the sheathing the roof deck.

Topics about the house include.

• The history of the house.
• The job of the house.
• The four barriers of the house.
• Soils.
• Floors on grade.
• Foundations.
• Framing.

Also included is an hour of business management, dealing with a case study on "why should I use a Master Service Agreement", as well as an hour of Energy.

This course is approved by MN DLI for 7hrs. including an hour of energy and an hour of business administration for Building Contractors and Building Officials.

This course is approved by WI DSPS for 7 hrs. including an hour of business administration dealing with contracts, liabilities, and risk for Dwelling Contractors Qualifiers.

Classes start at 7:30 AM and include morning snacks, a box lunch, and the day ends at 2:30 PM getting you back to your job sites!
